Fatal Collision on Wildwood Florida Turnpike Claims Life of Ocala Resident: The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) reported that a collision between a tractor-trailer and an automobile on Wednesday morning resulted in the death of a 37-year-old man from Ocala. At approximately 5:20 a.m., the incident occurred near mile marker 305 on Florida’s Turnpike.
The semi-truck was travelling in the outside southbound lane while the automobile was attempting to pass it in the inside southbound lane. Unfortunately, the vehicle suddenly veered into the path of the automobile, leaving the driver with little time to react.

Despite the driver’s efforts to take evasive action, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle whirled, flipped, and came to rest in the median. In the meantime, the vehicle veered off the road, flips, and crashes into multiple trees. The impact caused the truck’s dirt cargo to spill out onto the surrounding area.
In the collision, the 39-year-old driver of the vehicle, who is also from Ocala, sustained minor injuries. As is standard procedure, the Florida Highway Patrol does not reveal the identities of accident victims.
