Felicia Rodrica Sturt Taylor, a longtime Palm Beach resident, passed away on Friday at her residence. Regarding age, she was 59. She was born in Los Angeles on August 28, 1964, to actor Rod Taylor, who appeared in Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds,” and fashion model Mary Hilem (later Schott).
She had John Wayne and John Ford as godfathers, which made her a genuine Hollywood product. After graduating from Milton Academy, she pursued a bachelor’s degree in English at Northwestern University.

Ms. Taylor entered the film industry, following in her family’s footsteps, and produced the acclaimed documentary “Far From Home,” which examines the effects of climate change on the people of Senegal, particularly the children.
Prior to this, Ms. Taylor served as a business correspondent for CNN and CNBC, as well as a weekend anchor for New York’s WNBC. Ms. Taylor has been married twice. Her first marriage to Charles Schuster was dissolved. Peter Gottsegen, whom she wed in November 2021, is still alive today.
She was a member of the Beach Club and Screen Actors Guild and a devoted supporter of South Florida PBS. In addition to her spouse, she is survived by a number of cousins in Virginia and the Carolinas. A memorial service is scheduled for January in Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers, contributions to South Florida PBS or the Town of Palm Beach United Way may be made.
