Jason Derulo Sued For Asking For Sex After Signing Singer To A Record Deal

The lawsuit provides a timeline of Derulo's alleged actions, including coercion and irrational outbursts.

Jason Derulo Sued: An aspiring singer from the United States has filed a lawsuit against American musician Jason Derulo for sexual harassment, alleging that the R&B vocalist signed her to a record deal with the intent to have sex with her.

On Thursday, October 5, the complainant filed a sexual harassment case against the performer in Los Angeles Superior Court.

Jason’s business relationship with Emaza Gibson allegedly came to an end after she rejected his sexual advances.

The 25-year-old aspiring artist claims that in addition to breaking their contract, Jason also failed to give her the chance he had previously promised.

Her lawyer, Ron Zambrano, reportedly told People Magazine that Jason’s “outrageous and illegal” physical harm threats and unsolicited sexual approaches against a young woman who is just trying to get into the field.

Jason’s representative has refuted every accusation levelled against him. “These claims are completely false and hurtful,” Jason’s representative alleges in a statement provided to People magazine. I oppose all sorts of harassment and will always encourage those who are pursuing their aspirations.

He continued by saying that the singer was extremely hurt by these false accusations.

The lawsuit provides a timeline of Derulo’s alleged actions, including coercion and irrational outbursts. It asserts that Derulo first got in touch with Gibson in August 2021 about collaborating with Atlantic, where he already has a record deal, to sign to Future History. He asserted that in order for the project to get off the ground, he would need to give Atlantic a new artist in exchange for his pledge to work with her on multiple albums.

Gibson claims that she was offered a budget to fund an Atlantic mixtape within four months, as well as the promise to record a single with Derulo. Derulo and Gibson started working on her Future History album in November 2021. She claims that Derulo told her that she would need to use “goat skin and fish scales,” a reference to “conducting sex rituals, sacrificing a goat, goat blood, and doing cocaine,” in order to succeed in the music business. According to the lawsuit, she perceived this as a request for sex in exchange for her success.

According to the court documents that the tabloid was able to get, Emaza has also named in the complaint Atlantic Records, Derulo’s label Future History Inc., and his manager Frank Harris.

The singer is being sued by Emaza Gibson for sexual harassment, contract breach, and unlawful retaliatory termination.
