500 Weight Loss Centers for Jenny Craig Jenny Craig, a leading provider of weight loss services, is reportedly closing some locations and issuing a mass layoff notice.

The Carlsbad, California-based company will reportedly begin layoffs as soon as it begins looking for a buyer, according to multiple news sources.

USA TODAY was unable to quickly reach a Jenny Craig spokesperson for comment. According to its website, the company has 500 weight-loss centres in the United States and Canada and “millions of successful Jenny members.”

As with many other businesses, we are transitioning from a brick-and-mortar retail firm to a client-focused, e-commerce-driven model. In the coming weeks, we will have more information to share, according to a spokesperson for Jenny Craig who spoke with CNN.

According to NBC News, as Jenny Craig begins “winding down physical operations” and searches for a buyer, it has informed employees that layoffs are possible.

The company, founded in 1983, did not specify how many employees it plans to lay off or how many locations it will close.
