The “Wrecking Ball” singer announced the news on Instagram, where she also informed her 213 million followers of additional major plans.
The promotional video begins with Cyrus strutting towards the camera in a dazzling red leotard before transitioning to excerpts from her forthcoming album Endless Summer Vacation: Continued Backyard Sessions.
Cyrus has been discreetly teasing her new single for weeks despite her relative silence this year. Earlier this month, she hinted at the title of her next song in the description for the Bangerz 10th Anniversary Deluxe vinyl on her own website. On August 15, she shared a video of a series of posters that referenced the lyrics of some of her career-defining singles, such as “Wrecking Ball,” “Flowers,” “The Climb,” and “Party in the U.S.A.” She added captions to the video.
“Used To Be Young” is the first new recording by Miley Cyrus since the release of Endless Summer Vacation in March. This album, her ninth studio effort, debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and was also made available on Disney+ with its own Backyard Sessions. The following day, the new episode of Endless Summer Vacation: Continued Backyard Sessions will be available on Hulu.
