The incident transpired in a hay field in Seminary on October 10, according to information provided to WHLT by deputies of the Covington County Sheriff’s Office.

When Bryce’s grandfather returned from entering a residence, he discovered that the ATV had capsized, entrapping the eight-year-old Bryce beneath it.

Bryce was transported to the hospital, where he regrettably succumbed to his injuries a few days later. The authorities refrained from disclosing additional details regarding the accident’s occurrence or potential cause.

According to an online obituary, Bryce was known for his friendly nature and his smile that could make anyone happy. It reads,

“He is remembered for his loving, caring, and thoughtful personality. He enjoyed waking up early every day to feed his dog Pancho, fix his mama’s coffee and his sister’s water bottle, and get ready for school. On Sundays, he was eager to go to church to help his Papa lead the Sunday School Assembly. He prayed, sang, and served with a tender heart and a love for Jesus. “

Relatives said Bryce liked riding his bike and playing baseball, just like most kids. They added,

“His generosity and compassion for others far exceeded his years. It is the Humphrey Family’s sincere desire that Bryce’s life and memory would point the lost to Christ and lead Christians to strengthen their relationship with Him.”

The funeral of Bryce is slated to take place on Friday, October 20, according to the details provided in his obituary. Approximately 70 miles to the southeast of downtown Jackson is the seminary.
