Murillo recently wed singer/songwriter Tori Kelly, who possesses considerable aptitude. The foundation of the couple’s relationship is unwavering trust and faith in one another. Murillo has retired from basketball, but his narrative of perseverance, determination, and faith continues to inspire and motivate others.

Murillo’s tenure in basketball began at El Toro High School in Lake Forest, California. He continued to play basketball at Concordia University until he was dismissed for disciplinary reasons. After being expelled, Murillo returned to Biola University to complete his basketball career.

In 2019, Murillo announced his retirement from basketball due to a career-ending injury. However, there is more to his story than basketball triumph. Murillo’s near-death experience occurred after he was wounded at a social gathering. After being discharged from the hospital, he began self-medicating with painkillers. This was a pivotal moment in his existence.

Murillo found solace in his faith, and he eventually turned to God for assistance with his addiction. He enrolled at Biola University in order to start over and rediscover his love of basketball. Murillo is extremely grateful to Dave Holmquist, his Biola University basketball coach.
