Alaska $1,702 PFD September: The Permanent Fund Dividend, or PFD, is a special money gift that Alaska gives to its residents every year. It started in 1982 so that people in the state could share in the wealth from Alaska’s oil and minerals.

The money comes from a big investment fund that grows from profits made from energy and mining royalties. Each year, the state looks at the profits from the last five years, removes costs and obligations, and decides the amount for each person. For 2025, every person gets $1,702. This money helps families pay bills, buy food, and save a little too.

Alaska $1,702 PFD September: Who is Eligible?

To be eligible you have to be:

  • You must live in Alaska all through 2024.
  • You must plan to live in Alaska for good.
  • You should not have claimed benefits or lived in another state after 2023.
  • You need to have been in Alaska for at least 72 hours in 2023 or 2024.
  • You cannot have serious criminal convictions in 2024 or be in jail for them.
  • If you were away for more than 180 days, it must be for allowed reasons like college, medical, or military.
  • Kids can get it too if their parents or guardians apply for them and meet the rules.

When will you Recieve the Payment?

  • October 2, 2025: People who applied online and chose direct deposit, if they are marked “Eligible-Not Paid” by September 18.
  • October 23, 2025: People with paper applications or who chose a check, if marked “Eligible-Not Paid” by October 13.
  • November 20, 2025: Applications still pending, marked “Eligible-Not Paid” by November 12.

How to Check your PFD?

Residents can log in to myAlaska portal to see their application status.You can check if it says “Eligible-Not Paid” and see the expected payment date. You can update your personal info safely in the portal. Alaska warns people about fake emails and texts asking for passwords. myAlaska never asks for that, so do not give your info.
