Bilt 2.0 Card Activation: Bilt has rolled out its new Bilt 2.0 credit cards, including the Bilt Palladium Card, the Bilt Obsidian Card, and the Bilt Blue Card. People who applied for one of these cards before Feb. 1 should already have received their new card in the mail.
Anyone who has not applied yet can still sign up for one of the new cards. However, Feb. 1 was the final date for existing Wells Fargo-backed Bilt Mastercard users to move smoothly into one of the new Bilt 2.0 cards.
If you now have your new card in hand, you will need to activate it before using it for purchases or earning rewards.

Guide to Activating Your Bilt 2.0 Card
Activation can be completed using the Bilt Rewards app or by scanning the QR code that comes with the card.
Step 1
Open the Bilt Rewards app on your phone. If you received a QR code in the mail with your card, you can scan it to reach the activation page.

Inside the app, go to the Wallet section and select the option to activate your card.

During the setup process, you may be asked to confirm the bank account you want to use for housing payments. Under the new Bilt 2.0 system, rent and mortgage payments are taken directly from your linked bank account using an ACH transfer.

The app will ask you to place your phone on the back of your card so it can activate the card automatically.

If your phone cannot read the card, you can choose the option to enter the card’s security code manually.

The system will verify your card details. Once the process is complete, you will receive confirmation that your card has been activated.

Setting up your Rewards and Digital Wallet
After activating the card:
- The app will ask if you want to add the card to your digital wallet, such as Apple Pay.
- Next, you will be asked to select how you want to earn rewards on housing payments and everyday purchases.
- You can choose to earn Bilt Cash rewards on purchases or earn points on rent or mortgage payments depending on your spending habits.
- This setting can be changed later if your spending patterns change.

Welcome Rewards and Account Changes
Many new cardholders will also see their welcome rewards appear in their account soon after activation but points bonuses require spending requirements.
The amount of welcome rewards depends on the card you selected. The Bilt Palladium Card offers a larger points bonus and additional benefits after meeting the required spending within the first few months. The Bilt Obsidian and Bilt Blue cards offer smaller Bilt Cash bonuses when the card is approved.
For people who previously used the Wells Fargo-backed Bilt Mastercard, that card stopped working on Feb. 6. If those cardholders did not switch to a Bilt 2.0 card, their account was automatically converted into a no-annual-fee Wells Fargo Autograph card.
