Eligibility is simple. You must have filed the Form IT-201 for 2023 and your income must fit in the set limits. You cannot get the money if someone else claimed you as a dependent. Governor Hochul’s program does not require any extra steps for people who qualify. The checks come automatically.
The payment amounts are different for different households.
- Couples who filed together and earned up to $150,000 will get $400. If their joint income is more than $150,000 but not more than $300,000, they will get $300.
- Single filers with income up to $75,000 get $200 and those earning more than $75,000 but not more than $150,000 get $150.

For those who meet the rules, there is nothing to do. The money will arrive at home automatically.
