Changes Coming in 2026

Starting in early 2026, some rules will change in SNAP. Twelve states, including Florida, Texas, Arkansas, Iowa, and Colorado, will limit what SNAP can buy. People will not be able to use it for soda, candy, or other foods considered unhealthy. The USDA approved this change to help families eat better and improve the nutrition in homes that depend on SNAP.
