Spirit Credit Card Free Spirit Rewards: People who flew Spirit often may also have had one of its Bank of America cards. Those were the Free Spirit® Travel Mastercard® and the Free Spirit® Travel More World Elite Mastercard®. New people cannot apply for them now. Spirit’s loyalty world has also been hit hard. The airline says that after its wind-down, Free Spirit points are no longer redeemable and cannot be moved to another airline or loyalty program. Spirit also says the future of the loyalty program will be decided later through the bankruptcy process.
Why Amex Gold Is Called The Best Lifestyle Card In 2026
Your Account is still Open, But the Card is Not Useful
If you already have one of these cards, the account is still open and active. You can still use the card for normal purchases, and Bank of America says cardholders can continue to make purchases. Spirit also says, “Bank of America is the issuer of Spirit credit cards. Please contact them directly.” Even so, the points you earn now are not redeemable, and they cannot be transferred anywhere else at this time. That is why the value of using the card right now is very weak.
Because of that, TPG says the safer move is to stop using the Spirit card for now and use another card that gives rewards you can actually spend. TPG also says there is no immediate reason to cancel the card, especially if you have had it for a long time, because closing it could hurt your credit score.

What Happens Next for Cardholders
Currently there is no plan to move Spirit cardholders to a different Bank of America card. Still, Bank of America told TPG it will keep giving current cardholders updates, including “details about a product transition, if applicable.” For questions about Free Spirit points, TPG says cardholders can contact Spirit Airlines at SpiritAirlinesInfo@epiqglobal.com. Spirit also says all of its flights are cancelled and it is unable to provide service, so travelers are being told to rebook elsewhere.
Baiscally the card is still alive, but the rewards are not really working right now. The account stays open, but the points have lost their normal use. That leaves cardholders in a weird spot while the bankruptcy process keeps moving forward.
