Elite XC Results: The results of the fourth Elite XC World Cup in Val Di Sole have been determined.

Puck Pieterse continues to impress in 2023 as she demonstrates her dominance at the World Cup.

After the first complete lap, Puck Pieterse had established a 41-second lead that was insurmountable, even with an error on the final circuit. Martina Berta was unable to win at home, but she still finishes the weekend in second position. Rebecca Henderson appears to have regained her form as she surged to third place. Pauline Ferrand Prevot had another difficult weekend as a result of a major accident in the woods that ended her podium hopes.

After winning her third World Cup in 2023, Puck Pieterse stated, “I decided to go for it from the beginning, and then it was just a matter of riding at my own pace and trying not to fall behind.” Indeed, it worked again, so it appears to be an effective strategy.”

Following his worst World Cup performance in Leogang, Nino Schurter demonstrated why he is one of the all-time greats by claiming his 35th World Cup victory.

Nino Schurter demonstrated that he was back to business as usual by appearing powerful from the start and carefully observing the riders around him before launching an attack on the fourth lap to establish a lead of over thirty seconds. The Swiss rider was untouchable as he crossed the finish line 26 seconds clear of Mathias Flückiger. The newly crowned European champion Vlad Dascalu advanced to the lead and defeated Joshua Dubau at the finish line to claim third place.

Nino Schurter stated in an interview following his 35th World Cup victory, “It feels great, and I realised in Lenzerheide that I’m in great condition. In Leogang, it was a touch too much after Lenzerheide, but I knew I was in great shape and my bike was set up perfectly. Having such a fantastic bike on such challenging courses as here and Lenzerheide works so well. I realised early on that I am also quite strong on the ascents and that I can navigate those sections with ease. Another insanity-inducing excursion in Val Di Sole. I adore living in Italy.”
