March Madness 2024 Bracket: It’s March Madness. The most anticipated stage for college basketball fans begins today with Selection Sunday, when the brackets for the tournaments that will determine the new men’s and women’s NCAA champions will be revealed.
As is tradition, both tournaments will begin with the First Four, in which eight teams per branch will fight to qualify for the respective main draw. There will be a tournament for the men on March 19 and 20 in Dayton, Ohio. The First Four for the women will be held on March 20 and 21 in Albany, New York, and Portland, Oregon.
Each tournament has 68 teams in its main draw. The first round of the subregional stage takes place between March 21 and 23 for the men’s division, and from March 22 to 24 for the women’s division. Each tournament will have a second round on March 22 and 24.
From March 28 to 31, four regional groups will play the men’s Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight. Boston College will host the East Regional, Pepperdine University will host the West Regional, the American Airlines Center will host the South Regional, and the University of Detroit Mercy will host the Midwest Regional.
In the women’s branch, the Sweet Sixteen and Elite Eight will be held at two venues on March 29 and April 1. The Portland Regional will take place at the University of Oregon and Oregon State, while the Albany Regional will be held at the University of Albany.
ASU University will host the men’s Final Four on April 6 and the Championship Game on April 8, respectively. The women’s tournament will take place on April 5 and the 7th of the same month. Cleveland State University and a Horizon League venue will co-host both events.
In each branch, only the conference champions qualify automatically, while the remaining 36 teams are selected by the NCAA Selection Committee on Selection Sunday.
