2023 Ryder Cup: A few weeks before the 2023 Ryder Cup, Team Europe will host Team USA in Rome with hopes of reclaiming victory. Since 1967, the United States’ 19-9 victory at Whistling Straits in 2021 stands as the largest margin of victory in a Ryder Cup.

The tournament will be held from September 29 to October 1 at the Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome.

The Championship Course has a maximum yardage of 7,265 yards and a par of 72.

The undulating terrain emphasises captivating match play courses after its 2021 redesign.The first hole features a massive grandstand surrounding the tee box and is a par 4 measuring 445 yards.

From the fourth to ninth holes, the difficulty increases, with two par 3s, two lesser par 4s, and two reachable par 5s.

The final three holes adhere to traditional design principles, beginning with a short par 4, followed by a difficult par 3, and culminating with a prolonged par 5.

In addition to panoramic views of the Eternal City, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Castle of Marco Simone, the late Italian summer weather will be idyllic for spectators.

The format for Ryder Cup 2023

During the Ryder Cup, a total of 28 points are at stake, with each team contending for 1412 points to secure victory.

The competition encompasses three days and includes three formats: foursomes, fourballs, and singles.

On Friday and Saturday, there will be four foursomes (alternate shot) and four fourballs (better ball) contests, followed by 12 singles matches on Sunday as the grand finale.

In the event that a match concludes in a tie after 18 holes, each team will receive 0.5 points.

If the tournament ends with a score of 14-14, the trophy will be retained by the champion of the previous tournament.

While all participants will compete in the singles matches, the pairings for the other contests will be determined prior to each session by the respective team captains.
