Sony to Launch PS5 Pro in 2024 Before GTA 6 Release: Report

Sony is expected to release the PS5 Pro, a successor to the PS5, in late 2024, according to industry experts, with the long-awaited product expected to debut this year.

Sony to Release PS5 Pro: Industry experts informed CNBC that the long-awaited PS5 Pro could potentially debut this year. There have been indications that a potent successor to the PS5, which debuted four years ago, may be available for purchase in the latter part of 2024.

A powerful successor to the PS5, which debuted four years ago, may be available in late 2024. GTA releases have historically boosted console sales, and Sony may be attempting to capitalize once more.

Sony plans to release a PS5 Pro in 2024, while also preparing for the 2025 release of Grand Theft Auto VI, a game expected to revitalize the gaming industry.

Sony disclosed its most recent financial report on February 14, moderating PlayStation enthusiasts’ expectations. The company has decreased its sales forecast for the PS5 for the fiscal year ending in March 2024, decreasing it from 25 million units to 21 million units. Furthermore, an executive alluded to the possibility of a “gradual decline” in sales in the foreseeable future.

Sony’s senior vice president, Naomi Matsuoka, announced the PS5’s final development phase will begin in April 2024 and continue through March 2025.

Consequently, a PS5 Pro, a potential mid-generation upgrade, could support upcoming high-definition titles.

Sony declared that they would not release significant sequels such as God of War and Spider-Man before April 2025. Sony could potentially release the PS5 Pro in the latter half of 2024, a move that is not unexpected.

The PS5’s release in 2020 was exciting, but the console’s scarcity hurt enthusiasts. Due to complications in the global supply chain, PS5 inventory would rapidly run out in stores. Fortunately, the PS5 became a more accessible treasure in 2023.

Comparable to the rumored PS4 Pro, the PS5 Pro could feature updated internal components and a potentially revised design. Sony will likely upgrade the PS5 rather than completely redesign it, making it more of a PS5 Plus.
