WhatsApp’s Latest Update: WhatsApp, an instant messaging application owned by Meta, is reportedly developing a feature that allows users to determine how long messages remain pinned within conversations and groups. With this feature, it will be possible to pin a particular message within individual and group chats, making it simpler for all participants to flag it for future reference.
WhatsApp’s Latest Update: Introducing the ‘Message Pin Duration’ Feature – Here’s What You Should Know
Thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.13.11 update available on the Google Play Store, WABetaInfo discovered that WhatsApp is developing a feature that will allow users to determine how long a message should remain pinned in a chat. The feature will be available in a future update of the app.
According to the report, the application owned by Meta plans to release a feature that allows conversation participants to determine the duration of their pin. Users will have the option to select a specific duration after which the posted message will be automatically unpinned.
WABetaInfo has discovered, via the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.13.11 update, that WhatsApp intends to offer users three distinct durations: 24 hours, 7 days, and 30 days. According to the notification, it is possible to unpin the current pinned message at any moment, even before the selected duration expires, giving users greater control over their pinned messages.
With pinned messages, the platform owned by Meta intends to provide users with a tool that allows them to keep important information or announcements conspicuously displayed at the top of a conversation, ensuring they are easily accessible and not overlooked by other messages, according to the report.
In addition, the new message pin duration feature provides users with a convenient method for ensuring that timely and pertinent information remains visible for a specified amount of time. Once the specified time has passed, the message is automatically unpinned, facilitating a more organised, current, and transparent conversation.
The feature to choose how long messages remain pinned within chats and groups, as well as the ability to pin messages, is in development and will be made available to beta participants in a future app update.
