Prof Rashid Umar, faculty member, Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) has been awarded the National Award for Excellence in Ground Water Science for 2019.
It is given by the Indian National Chapter of International Association of Hydrogeologists (INC-IAH) every year. The objective of the award is to honour ground water professionals for their outstanding contribution in Indian Hydrogeology.
Prof Rashid Umar has published several research papers in high quality journals; completed extramural projects funded by DST, and MoWR, Government of India and guided many PhD students.
He has extensive experience in working with international agencies of ground water research.
