The professor has been barred from teaching until the investigation is completed. The incident occurred on November 26th.

In class, a professor at Bengaluru’s Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) referred to a Muslim student as a “terrorist.” The video of the incident went viral, and the university has launched an investigation. The professor has been barred from teaching until the investigation is completed. The incident occurred on November 26th.

“The incident occurred three to four days ago, and we learned about it last night through a tweet.” Appropriate action has been taken, with the formation of an inquiry committee, and the concerned faculty has been barred from teaching until the investigation is completed. The student has received counselling. We have a zero-tolerance policy for incidents of this nature. “We will take appropriate action following the investigation,” SP Kar, Manipal University’s director of public relations, told Careers360.

In response to the viral video, MIT Bengaluru tweeted, “The institute has already initiated an investigation into the incident, and the concerned staff has been barred from taking classes until the investigation is completed.” We want everyone to know that the institute does not tolerate this type of behaviour, and this isolated incident will be handled in accordance with the policy.”

“The institute takes pride in having one of the most diverse student bodies on campus and is committed to upholding our constitutional values of treating everyone equally, regardless of caste, religion, region, or gender,” it added.
