Sindri College organises conference on ‘Role of Teachers in Nation Building’

Dr Singh speaking as the chief speaker said that in the present age of globalisation strong nation could be made only through improvement in educational conditions and teachers have a major role in improving education standards.

Dhanbad, July 20: The Sindri College of Binod Bihari Mahto Koylanchal University (BBMKU) organised the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav programme where the principal of RS More College while addressing said teachers play a major role in the foundation of a strong nation.

“Teachers have a major role in the foundation of a strong nation and they must know their aim in this regard,” he said.

Dr Singh speaking as the chief speaker said that in the present age of globalisation strong nation could be made only through improvement in educational conditions and teachers have a major role in improving education standards.

 

The conference was organised on the topic of ‘Role of Teachers in Nation Building’.

“So teachers and education both have a pivotal role in the foundation of a strong nation. The teachers must know their aim and importance only then strong nation could be built,” said Dr Praveen Singh.

Dr Singh said he observed that a nation is always attached to feelings and one must be proud of their culture but before that, it is necessary to focus on the character building of the students.

Sindri College principal Dr Nakul Prasad while presiding over the lecture programme said youth are the backbone of a nation. Teachers are considered role models for youth and architect their future. So teachers must know their role and importance in building the nation.

Senior professor Dr DK  Singh of the political science department while introducing the subject at the conference shed light on the role of teachers in nation-building. He said that teacher has a major role in instilling a sense of nationalism in students as he lives very close to them. “I can say if anyone can keep unity and integrity of the nation intact that are teachers,” he said.

Dr Manoj Tiwari, senior professor of philosophy department while shedding light on the role of teachers in nation building said that teacher’s responsibility does not limit to providing only knowledge albeit he has to focus on imparting spiritual value-based education to students which helps in character and nation building.

Senior professor of the Hindi department Dr Vishu Meghnani said that the development of a nation depends on developed students. The students can develop only with the development of teachers. So the development of teachers must be focused on a priority basis.

Dr  Anup Mehta on the occasion observed that like teachers, students will come up and the nation would be made on the same basis. So it is necessary teachers should concentrate on their duty.

Prof Anil Ashutosh conducted the function. Dr A Mallick of the English department, Dr Sunita Jaiswal of political science, Dr Mamta Kumari and other teachers also put up their opinion on the role of teachers.
