Ike Sewell, the founder of Uno’s Pizzeria, devised deep dish pizza in the Windy City in 1943. It became so popular that it spawned a massive national chain and dozens upon dozens of other deep dish pizzerias in major cities around the globe. There is much more to admire about Chicago besides its pizza. (though their pizza is a huge draw). Why not use the holiday as an excuse to visit the epicentre of deep-dish pizza? Take a selfie in front of the Bean, watch a Cubs game at Wrigley field and visit as many deep dish pizza restaurants as possible. You could even categorise them if you wanted to.
