June 2023 Stimulus Checks: Several states are issuing stimulus payments and tax refunds in June in an effort to alleviate financial burdens brought on by inflation and budget surpluses from the prior year. To aid you, we’ve compiled a comprehensive list of states that offer these payments, along with instructions on how to request them and their associated sums.
June 2023 Stimulus Checks
California
Through the Guaranteed Income Programme dubbed Breathe, residents of Los Angeles County, California are eligible to receive $1,000 monthly payments for two years.
To be eligible for assistance, a person must have been in foster care until at least the age of 18 and have a household income that is at or below the local median. The combined income of two-person households must be less than 120% of the area median. The county requires that applicants have been negatively affected by COVID-19, but officials have not provided any specific examples.
The county also stated that petitioners must “have been negatively impacted by COVID-19,” but officials have not provided clear examples of what “negatively impacted” would entail. From June 20 to July 3, applications may be submitted electronically through the Breathe Programme website. There will only be 200 individuals elected.
Georgia
The state government of Georgia has announced rebates of $250 for individuals and $500 for married couples. Residents who have filed tax returns for both 2021 and 2022 are eligible for these rebates. Those who submitted their returns by the 18th of April can anticipate receiving their payment this month, although it may take up to eight weeks.
Massachusetts
You may be eligible for a refund of approximately fourteen percent of your state tax liability as a taxpayer. The tax authority has been tasked with distributing this sizable reimbursement to taxpayers due to a revenue surplus that exceeded state regulations.
The initial instalment of compensation was issued in December, but only to those who filed their 2021 tax returns by October 17, 2022.
After the initial shipment, the tax authority has been mailing refund checks one month after receiving the tax return. This means that those who submitted their claim in May would receive their payment in June.
State of New Jersey
Thanks to Affordable New Jersey Communities for Homeowners and Renters (ANCHOR), roughly 2 million New Jersey households became eligible for property tax rebates.
As part of the ANCHOR benefits programme, $450 will be given to 50,000 individuals. The process of disbursement is ongoing, and recipients will receive funds via direct deposit or cheque. The program’s application deadline passed on February 28.
